Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Pain Management was founded on the principles of personalized holistic health. At our multidisciplinary facility in Islandia, we offer a wide range of services such as pain management, injection therapy, and physical therapy in order to provide our patients with the most effective treatment options. Whether you are suffering from a chronic condition, sports injury, or acute pain, our team can assist you.

Our team consists of board-certified physicians and physician assistants specializing in pain management. We begin by giving you a thorough evaluation and a complete physical examination, including any diagnostic tests that might be needed. Our professionals will treat you with the most modern techniques and in a compassionate manner. Once a treatment plan is developed, it may be composed of a single therapy or a combination of therapies.

Jordan Sudberg MD, AAPM&R

Dr. Sudberg is the CEO and Medical Director of Spine and Sports Rehabilitation. Dr. Sudberg completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital in New York. His Internal Medicine Internship was completed at Staten Island University Hospital.

Dr. Sudberg was a research scientist at Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital in the tissue engineering department as well as a research scientist at Columbia University in the Department of Cardiology in the Exercise physiology lab studying the effects of cardiovascular exercise.

During his training in Pain Management, he developed a specific interest in Regenerative medicine techniques. Dr. Sudberg is certified and trained in ultrasound guided injections as well as viscosupplementation. He is additionally certified and trained at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital in Nerve Conduction Studies. Dr. Sudberg’s specific areas of interest include Peak Performance, Elite fitness, and Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Sudberg speaks English and Spanish is a Certified Physical Trainer and Kinesiologist, as well as a USTA Tennis Instructor, as well as a former competition skier.

Dr. Wilfredo Morales III, chiropractor in Ronkonkoma, NY, grew up in Central Islip, NY. As a student athlete in Central Islip High School, Dr. Morales excelled in and out of the classroom. He was a 2004 graduate who was captain of the baseball and cross-country teams while maintaining high grades in school. Dr. Wilfredo Morales III then went on to attend St. Joseph’s College. He continued excelling in and out of the classroom while receiving his Bachelor’s in Biology and serving as captain of the baseball team.

While pitching in a game, Dr. Morales suffered an elbow injury that unfortunately ended his pitching career. He began researching various techniques, treatments, and rehabilitative therapies and became enamored with the treatment of injuries through manual and chiropractic treatments.

Upon graduating from St. Joseph’s College, Dr. Morales decided to attend New York Chiropractic College to further his knowledge and ability to treat numerous injuries, in athletes and non-athletes alike, through muscular and chiropractic manipulation. During this time, Dr. Morales acquired a great deal of knowledge about deep tissue therapy, neurology, nutrition, and various adjustive techniques.

The techniques Dr. Morales focuses on in his practice are ConnectX therapy, Y strap, kinesiology taping, electric stimulation, post-isometric relaxation technique, stretching, strengthening, rehabilitation, and chiropractic adjustments including diversified adjustments, flexion distraction, drop table technique, and activator technique. As a doctor and current baseball player, Dr. Morales truly understands the importance of restoring function to the muscles, joints, and spine to have his patients performing their daily activities at their prime level, regardless of age or activity level, in a timely manner.
